Deron Williams Signs Deal With Turkish Team

Deron Williams has signed a 1 year $5million deal to play with Beskitas next season, if there is no NBA. This is the same team that Allen Iverson played with last season. This is a concern I have had for over a year, that NBA players will take there talents over seas of time is missed. He certainly isn't the only player that will do this, these players only have so many years to play before the game passes them by. But what happens if guys get hurt over there? Teams will more than likely be taking players through arbitration wanting some money back no doubt.
Something else to keep in mind is if more big named guys decide to follow Williams it could put pressure on NBA owners to give in on something's they want changed. It could even possibly bring the decision to stay the lock out in which case they would 'work' through negotiations. That would be a horrible option, with how far apart the two sides are if the worked through the labor talks, they could play 50 plus games and then end up where we are now no NBA. The best thing for the NBA is to get all their issues worked out before there is anymore games played.
The fact is this lock out is going to last longer than anyone wants. The chances of there being any games for the upcoming season is about 20% we think. Unless something drastically changes atleast. So I guess only time will tell if Deron Williams will be playing with and or against any of his NBA counterparts, but I believe he will play with numerous.

Deron Williams to play in Turkey

Now with word of Deron Williams planning to take his talents to Turkey if the NBA lockout isn't resolved, will the flood gates open? Me and numerous other people here at our firm have been saying this should be a real concern for owners and fan alike. The simple fact is NBA players could make more money there with Today's salary cap. So with the lockout underway and owners wanting max deals cut in half and average salary in the league cut 60 plus percent don't be surprised if a few players actually do go to Europe.
There is allot of upside for guys to go over seas other than the up in pay grade. Taxes for starters are considerable lower, cost of living is lower aswell and in most cases they will live like kings for free. When big name players go to Europe they are greeted and treated the the Beatles.
So what I wonder is if an entire NBA season is lost and players do go over to play during the stoppage, will they come back once a new agreement is made? That should be a real concern for NBA fans. The game isn't in a great place right now, and after this is all said and done it will more than likely be at a all-time low. So at that time the NBA will need there stars and the best players in the world to help the game recover.
For me and allot of our staff, there is a long list that needs fixed in the NBA. Most of all College kids must stay 1 to 2 more years, they need to fix incoming lack of talent for the drafts.

NBA lock out

With the NBA lockout Looming that is all you hear about on sports radio. Asking if they will get a deal done before midnit, common, it is very clear the owners and players are so far away there isn't a chance for any sort of agreement today. There is allot of changes need to be made. The average salary is 8.5 mill, that is absurd! And these max deals have got to get lowered, the owners want the max deal all the way down to right around 10 million a year. That is a huge difference from now. You gotta wonder if there will be a season this year? Also if the max deals get lowered that much how many of these guys willgo over seas and play, they could now make more then they do play here in the states so that could be a real concern!
Everyone knows NBA players more so then NFL players are flashy and loose with there money there are going to be some desperate players if they miss an entire season.
One thing that must change is age for entering the draft. I think they need to make these kids stay til there sophomore or junior season! College basketball is so different now TE talent level is diminished. The only way to fix it is to keep them around a few season's. And I think by lowering that gauranteed money it could help and obviously by restricting it it would help. So don't be expecting any sort of labor deal anytime soon if your a NBA fan, it could be a long while!
